About the event
Maiden | Mother | Whore comes to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in a new theatre adaptation.
Blending South Asian classical-contemporary dance, interactive projection, spoken word and live audience encounter, the work explores gender, power and resistance through a transnational, intersectional feminist lens.
Audiences are invited into an interactive exhibition environment before entering a live performance shaped by movement, projection art and collective reflection. Join us for a layered, intimate and politically charged encounter in which the audience becomes part of the evolving work.
Created by Theiyā Arts in collaboration with academics from the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society at the University of Edinburgh.
Age guidance: 14+
This performance includes audience participation, distressing or potentially triggering themes, scenes of a sexual nature and strong language. Audience members will be invited to walk or move through part of the performance environment.
